Frequently asked questions

Questions about SNKLNK.

How the app works, where your data lives, and what SNKLNK does with the information you choose to record.

What is SNKLNK?

SNKLNK is a private, local-first web app for organizing people, encounters, testing information, reminders, history, and personal insights. It is designed for adults 18 and older.

Is SNKLNK a dating or hookup app?

No. SNKLNK does not match you with people or help you find partners. It is a personal record and insights tool for information you choose to track yourself.

Where does SNKLNK store my data?

During normal use, your core records are stored in browser storage on your device, primarily IndexedDB and local storage. SNKLNK does not operate a cloud database for your people, encounters, notes, photos, or testing records.

Do I need an account?

No. SNKLNK does not require a user account to use the app.

Can I track STI or sexual-health testing?

SNKLNK includes fields and reminders that can help you organize personal testing information. It is not a medical provider or substitute for professional medical care, testing, diagnosis, or treatment.

Can I track recurring partners as well as casual encounters?

Yes. SNKLNK is not limited to one-night encounters or casual relationships. You can maintain people records and associate multiple encounters with the same person over time.

Does SNKLNK use advertising or analytics trackers?

SNKLNK does not include advertising trackers or third-party behavioral analytics in the app. Personal insights are calculated from your locally stored SNKLNK records.

Can I back up my SNKLNK data?

Yes. SNKLNK can create a password-protected encrypted backup on your device for you to download or share. You can choose a weekly, every-two-weeks, or monthly schedule; when a backup is due, SNKLNK checks locally and prompts you after the app opens. You can back up, share/email through your device, or snooze the reminder. An optional destination email is stored only on that device. SNKLNK does not silently upload or email backups.

What happens if I clear my browser data or uninstall the app?

Because records are local, clearing site data, deleting the browser profile, resetting SNKLNK, or some uninstall and operating-system cleanup actions can remove your records. Keep a current backup if the data matters to you.

Does App Lock encrypt my database?

No. App Lock is designed to reduce casual access through the SNKLNK interface. It does not encrypt the underlying browser database and is not a replacement for device security or full-disk encryption.

Can I use SNKLNK offline?

SNKLNK is a Progressive Web App with offline support for its app shell. Once the necessary files have been loaded and cached, the installed app can continue to open when a connection is unavailable.

Does SNKLNK send my location to a server?

SNKLNK only requests your device location after you choose Use current location, and the resulting coordinates are stored locally with the encounter. Opening a map does contact the third-party map provider for map software and tiles, which can reveal your IP address and the approximate map area being viewed. Names, notes, ratings, testing information, and other encounter details are not included in those tile requests.

Can I store photos in SNKLNK?

Yes. SNKLNK supports a profile photo plus local photo galleries for people and encounters. Gallery images are compressed and stored on your device. Only store images you are legally permitted to possess and retain, and obtain permission where required, especially for intimate or sensitive images.

How do I delete everything?

Settings includes a Reset SNKLNK option for clearing the app records and preferences stored locally on that device. Exported backup files must be deleted separately wherever you saved them.
