SNKLNK Privacy Policy

Privacy is the default.

SNKLNK is built around local storage. This policy explains what stays on your device, what the hosting provider may process, and what happens when you use external links.

Your core SNKLNK records stay local during normal use.SNKLNK has no user account system or developer-operated cloud database for your people, encounters, notes, photos, testing records, reminders, and insights.
Effective date: August 18, 2026Policy version: 2026-08-18

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how SNKLNK handles information when you use the SNKLNK website, web application, or installed Progressive Web App (the "App"). SNKLNK is designed for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children.

2. Information you enter into SNKLNK

You may choose to enter highly sensitive personal information, including names or nicknames, contact or profile details, photos, encounter dates and locations, notes, ratings, relationship or sexual-history information, reminders, and sexual-health or testing information. You control what you enter.

This information is stored in browser storage on your device, primarily IndexedDB and local storage. SNKLNK does not transmit this private record content to the SNKLNK entitlement API, a SNKLNK account, cloud database, analytics service, advertising network, or developer-operated storage during normal local use. Optional network features are described separately below.

3. Information SNKLNK does not collect

SNKLNK does not require an account and does not include advertising trackers, third-party behavioral analytics, or remote telemetry. SNKLNK operates an API at api.snklnk.com for limited services such as SNKLNK+ entitlement validation. That API is not used to receive the people, encounters, notes, locations, ratings, testing information, photos, or other private records stored in the App during normal local use.

4. Local device storage

App data and preferences remain in storage controlled by your browser and device. Browser clearing, private-browsing behavior, operating-system cleanup, uninstalling the App, resetting SNKLNK, device loss, profile deletion, or browser changes may permanently erase local data. You are responsible for maintaining any backups you want to keep.

When you export a SNKLNK backup, SNKLNK encrypts the backup on your device with the password you choose before the file is downloaded or shared. The backup can include your records plus portable preferences, saved filters, and quick-logging defaults. App Lock PIN verification data is intentionally excluded. SNKLNK can check locally when an encrypted backup is due and prompt you after the App opens. You may snooze that prompt or choose to download or share the backup. If you save a backup destination email, that address is stored only in this browser on this device and is used only as a local sharing reminder; SNKLNK does not receive it. SNKLNK does not silently upload or email exported backups. Any location, email app, or service you choose for a backup is governed by that service's own privacy and security practices.

5. App Lock and security

If you enable App Lock, SNKLNK stores a derived verification value rather than your PIN itself. App Lock is intended to reduce casual access through the App interface; it is not a substitute for full-device security or disk encryption and does not encrypt the underlying browser database. Protect your device, browser profile, backups, and operating-system account appropriately.

To report a suspected security vulnerability, email security@snklnk.com. Please do not include intimate records, PINs, backup files, or other sensitive SNKLNK content unless specifically requested through an appropriate secure channel.

6. Notifications

If you choose to enable browser notifications, your browser or operating system may display locally generated SNKLNK reminders. Notification permissions are controlled by your browser or device. Consider whether notification previews are appropriate for your privacy needs.

7. Website hosting, SNKLNK+ validation, and network information

If you activate or verify SNKLNK+, the App sends the license key you provide to api.snklnk.com over HTTPS so the service can confirm the associated entitlement. The license key and resulting entitlement cache are stored locally on that device and are intentionally excluded from portable SNKLNK backups. The entitlement service does not receive your private SNKLNK records as part of license validation. Like ordinary web services, the API necessarily receives network information such as the connecting IP address and request metadata. Failed license-validation attempts are rate-limited; SNKLNK stores a keyed one-way representation of the client IP for that limiter rather than the raw address in the rate-limit table.

SNKLNK is delivered over the internet through GitHub Pages at snklnk.com. When your browser requests website or App files, GitHub may process ordinary web-request information such as an IP address, browser or device information, request time, and requested files under GitHub's own privacy practices. SNKLNK does not use that hosting information to build profiles about your intimate activity, and the records you create inside SNKLNK are not included in normal page requests.

8. Optional location and map features

If you choose to use current location, your browser or operating system asks for permission before providing coordinates to SNKLNK. SNKLNK stores the coordinates locally with the encounter and does not request your device location unless you activate the location feature. If you choose “Pin from address,” SNKLNK sends only the address or place text you entered to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim geocoding service so it can return coordinates. This lookup happens only when you click that button.

Opening a SNKLNK map loads mapping software and map tiles from third-party providers. Those providers may receive ordinary network information such as your IP address, browser information, requested map tiles, and information sufficient to infer the geographic area being viewed. SNKLNK does not include person names, notes, ratings, testing information, or other encounter content in map tile requests. Do not use the map feature if you do not want the map provider to receive a request associated with the viewed area.

9. Purchases, Paddle, licenses, and email

Paddle processes paid SNKLNK+ purchases as Merchant of Record. Paddle may process information needed to complete and support a transaction, including buyer contact and billing information, payment details, transaction identifiers, tax information, and fraud-prevention signals under Paddle's own privacy practices. SNKLNK does not need to receive or store full payment-card details.

SNKLNK may receive limited purchase information from Paddle needed to create, deliver, validate, support, refund, or revoke a license or entitlement. This may include an email address, Paddle customer or transaction identifiers, product purchased, entitlement status, timestamps, and refund or chargeback status. Purchase and license information is kept separate from intimate records stored locally in the App.

If you provide an email address for a purchase, license delivery, recovery, support request, or another optional online service, SNKLNK may use it for transactional messages such as license delivery, activation instructions, recovery, security notices, refund information, or important service changes. SNKLNK does not need to include your private encounter records in those messages.

11. Third-party links

SNKLNK may link to external services such as payment providers or social platforms. No SNKLNK encounter record is sent to those services merely because a link appears on the site or in the App. If you choose to open or use an external service, that service’s own terms and privacy policy apply.

11. Sale, sharing, advertising, and profiling

SNKLNK does not sell your SNKLNK records, share them for cross-context behavioral advertising, use them for targeted advertising, or use them to create advertising profiles. SNKLNK does not contain ads.

12. Sensitive information about other people

SNKLNK lets you create private records that may concern other adults. You are responsible for using the App lawfully, respecting other people's privacy and safety, and ensuring you have a lawful basis or permission where required before recording, retaining, exporting, or sharing information about another person. Do not use SNKLNK to record unlawful content or information about minors.

If you add photographs, only store images you are legally permitted to possess and retain. Obtain permission where required, especially for intimate, sexual, nude, or otherwise sensitive images. Do not use SNKLNK to store non-consensual intimate imagery or any sexual image involving a minor.

13. Sexual-health and testing information

Testing fields and reminders are personal organizational tools only. SNKLNK is not a medical provider, laboratory, health plan, medical-record system, or substitute for professional medical advice, testing, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care. Information you enter may be sensitive health information even when a particular health-privacy statute does not apply.

14. Retention and deletion

Your locally stored SNKLNK data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, reset SNKLNK, clear the relevant browser storage, or the browser or device removes it. The Settings screen includes a Reset SNKLNK function that is designed to delete SNKLNK's local records and preferences on that device. Exported backup files must be deleted separately wherever you saved them.

15. U.S. state privacy rights

Some U.S. state privacy laws provide rights regarding personal information handled by covered businesses, including rights to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses. Because SNKLNK's core records are kept on your device and are not received by the SNKLNK operator during normal use, the operator generally cannot access, retrieve, correct, or delete those local records for you. You can manage those records directly in the App or reset local data from Settings.

If SNKLNK's data practices change in the future, for example if accounts, synchronization, analytics, or cloud services are introduced, this policy will be updated before those practices are relied upon, and additional notices or choices will be provided where required.

16. Children

SNKLNK is intended only for adults 18 years of age or older. The App is not directed to children under 13, and the SNKLNK operator does not knowingly collect private SNKLNK records from children through an account system. The limited entitlement API described above is not intended for use by minors.

17. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as SNKLNK changes or legal requirements evolve. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date or policy version. When appropriate, SNKLNK may require a new acknowledgment before continued use.

18. Contact

For privacy questions or concerns, email privacy@snklnk.com. For general support, email support@snklnk.com. Do not include intimate records, testing details, PINs, backup files, or other sensitive SNKLNK content in an unsolicited message.

This policy describes SNKLNK's current data practices. It is not legal advice and does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
